Next stop Singapore

After our short trip to Malaysia, we headed to Singapore since it’s only a bus ride away. Read more for our Singapore Day 1 adventures!

Another kuripurita tip is to skip one (1) night at a hotel, instead we took bus travelling to Singapore. Although, we regret for not booking a bus online it took a hassle and long queue we wasted our time waiting for 5 hrs so it a lesson learned for us. Bus took off Malaysia at 10PM and arrive Singapore at 3AM. Check in at Fragrance Hotel Emerald located 20 Lorong 6 Geylang, Singapore. We took a chance to book this hotel via Booking.com because its way cheaper costs us Php 4,200 only for 2 nights. Unfortunately they don’t allow early check in, so we leave our luggage at their baggage storage and look for some walk & breakfast.

On our  first day we went for a stroll in Merlion Park pretty hard to miss anyway because of its prominent location at the mouth of the Singapore River. Not only could you get a good photo with the Merlion statue, the Singapore’s most iconic monument, there are also amazing views to be seen like the Singapore Skyline, Marina Bay Sands, The Esplanade: Theatres by the Bay, and the Singapore Flyer.

Because of humid hot weather we decided to stroll in Orchard Road instead for a little shopping spree  then we went back to our hotel to leave what we’ve shopped and rest a bit before going back to Marina bay.

I’ve read from somewhere on the web that on one side, there’s a Singapore Riverside and Civic District, which is a short walk away from the Merlion Park. Take a stroll down memory lane and get acquainted with the city’s early development and colonial history. There’s also a happening nightlife scene that can be experienced at Clark and Boat Quay, sadly we didn’t get to experience it.

Instead, we went straight to Gardens by the Bay by taking a walk around Marina Bay to marvel at Singapore’s new urbanscape. I heard there is an amazing overlooking views that can be seen from the Skypark of Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Flyer, which I also didn’t get to experience. I am thinking I am now have a reason to go back soon. LOL.

At night we got an entrance (we bought our ticket at our hotel with discounted price) to Flower Dome, we didn’t make it to Cloud forest because venue is under renovation.

Even I’m wearing my comfy shoes, my feet already sore tired from our sightseeing tour. So finally we took chance to go back to our hotel and have a goodnight sleep and prepare for an adventure at Sentosa Island for the next day.
